So, wha'd I miss?

Has it been a week already? My life is spinning by crazily. I want to slow down, but then I also want to do all these things that I do.

Just to make life more tricky, we went camping this weekend. And as much as there was a fair bit of work involved, it was just brilliant! There are very few thoughts that thrill me as much as the idea that Fatty and I are building a strong family unit, and giving our children happy childhood memories. So whether it was Laura running half-exhilirated, half-terrified into the waves, or Ben (the city slicker) enthralled by the stars ("Look at all the lights in the sky!") - I found each moment golden.

I hope you've all had plenty of happy times over the past week... I'll be stopping by to hear your news very soon!

Summer time I think we all slow down in reading our lovely blogging friends blogs.....well I guess it's winter over there, so you have no excuse....lol.....but time is what we make it.....I never get enough done around the house......but I try and read a blog or two a day.....I have no children at home or no hubby to keep me busy......I'm not posting as often as I did in my winter time.....but watch out, my winter is coming soon, and today it feels like the first day of it.... I love reading your posts and hearing you call your hubby, fatty........that tickles me..... Camping is a great family thing to do together.....I'm glad you had a good time......judy

There's NOTHING more important than your family and their welfare & happiness.

I agree with you that camping is a lot of work, but I also remember the fun of watching the children discover new things and being right there beside them to share in their delight. I'm glad you had such a wonderful time camping and watching your little miracles play and discover new things. (I just can't help but think of children as little miracles).

Although I don't have any children at home, I find myself being very busy and feeling that I just don't have the time to get all I want done either. I can just imagine how overwhelming it must be at times to juggle job, children, husband and home...and trying to find time for yourself. You seem to do it so easily and even find time to blog. You're an amazing woman, and BTW, I'm glad you're back.

Jellyhead, Susan, and Judypatooote, thanks for your lovely comments on my site about my special tribute to one of the 9/11 victims. It was an honor to be part of this project.

Jelly, I'm glad that you are back among the blogsters of this world. You were missed, but I am so happy that you, Fatty, and the children had a great time camping. Memories are made of moments like these. It's also great to refresh your soul by having special alone times with your precious family. In researching for my tribute, I thought about all the victims of 9/11 who would no longer be there to share in family moments. They will not be around to see their children grow and prosper, and they will not be there to share in the love of their spouse, partner, family, and friends. Enjoy these precious moments because you can.

Ha ha, we went camping last year, and the whole "what the heck were we thinking!!!??" crossed through my mind time and again too!

Anyhow, yes, you have given them beautiful memories while exposing them to the wonders of fresh air and nature. And you're laughing, and that's worth it!

Jelly, I missed you so much. Glad you got to go camping. As you know, I LOVE CAMPING! It is not so much work when we go, because everything is so organized and ready to go in my travel trailer (caravan). Your children will have memories of camping for their whole lives. I hope you took lots of photos of them.

Hellooo Jelly! I'm so pleased I'm not the only one who feels they can't fit everything they want to do into a day. I feel quilty about neglecting some things that need to be done. I love visiting all my blog friends and miss them when I don't have time. Glad you were able to have a nice camping weekend with your dear family. It really does give the kids wonderful memories to grow up with...doing anything together with Mum and Dad.
