black belt

Today, I thought I'd simply post a picture. It is not me, obviously! Those of you who follow this blog will understand.

I am going to drink some champagne tonight!

I am sooooo proud of you, Jelly!

And I am also going to be sure to always stay on your good side. I don't want to start any trouble with a black belt!

Whoo hoo! A toast to Jelly. Does this mean your hands are now considered lethal weapons? I promise never to piss you off. At least not in person. I am a bit of a pansy...

What challenges are you going to tackle next??

Good for you - I am glad you made it. Doesn't it feel good to reach a goal.

Wonderful news!

I've heard a rumor that Down Under, folks have to box kangaroos; is that why you have to study karate for self protection?

I knew you could do it! I am just a leather belt myself! hahahaha If anyone sneaks up behind you they will be sorry! Congratulations - I know it is a lot of work to get to the black belt status.

Awesome, girl! You are woman, we hear you roar, you can do anything. We are so very proud of you, you can't imagine.

What's the next step up? Platinum belt?

"Wax on -Wax off" lol!
(you need to have seen karate Kid in the 80's to get that);)
Congrats Black Belt Jelly!

Thank you so much, everyone! I'm still on a high, a whole day later.

T, I'm not moving on to any new challenges just yet. In any case, I'm the lowest level black belt, so there are multiple levels above me to aspire to, if I can live long enough to get to them!

John, you are quite right - I originally took up karate in order to ward off marauding kangaroos and the odd pecking emu. Our backyard is full of 'em!

Mackeydoodle, of *course* I remember 'wax on, wax off'!

Shelly C, I only drank 2 glasses of champagne last night (my horrible husband and 2 other friends drank the rest - the hoggy pigs), after which I most certainly did not leap about doing karate moves. Although I did demonstrate a scoring punch to my mother when she dropped over earlier. Mmmm. I'm thinking I'm ridiculous, too.

Very subtly put :)
Good on ya Mate! I know, I know, no one (except Crocodile Dundee) really talks like that...oh and all those other Aussie blokes (with scooner {or pint} of beer in hand). BUT....well DONE Jelly!
Oh, now I remember...Yes...."Wax on , wax off".....loved those Karate Kid movies!

Dunno if you'll see this. I was just googling myself and this came up.

There is one correction I'd like to make. In the picture, that guy... doesn't have a black belt. He's a green belt at the time. :P

Cheers!
