I can't help myself - I have a pressing need to show you a few holiday snaps.
The animal pictures were from an outing to a nearby wildlife park.
The bird photo was taken by Birdman (of course!), while I snapped the photo of the bush cottage. If you look closely at the cottage, you can see the avian-lover out front, peering into the trees through binoculars. The spotter is spotted!

Awww, Jelly! Thanks!
I love the pictures!
Great holiday photos, love the colorful birds. Looks like you had a great place to get away to.
What a great place! I'm sure you had a wonderful vacation (holiday) with all the beautiful flowers and impressive wildlife. Why did the emu cross the road? So he could have his picture taken by the birdman. Very cute.
Thanks for the nice photos. Hope you had a nice relaxing time. I am getting ready to go on vacation next week. I am like you though, I love to go, but then can't wait to get home again.
Your bird/wildlife photos always amaze me. Every time I try to take a photo, by the time I get the camera lined up, the bird has flown away -- or molted.
Nice pictures of your getaway...the cottage looks peaceful and like a great place to see wildlife. Why did the emu cross the road? Should we say to get to the other side?
Oh my don't hesitate to post such lovely pictures. Glad you had a nice time on your vacation.
Lovely pics. Thanks for the look into your world.
Happy birthday, Heather/Tootie! Enjoyed your guest blogging. Now I must check out your own blog.
ha ha, had a blonde moment there...
i was like, "she must mean a ZOO, not a wildlife preserve" for the place you took the pictures, because everyone knows that kangaroos (wallabies?) dont just occur naturally on the hill like that...
and then i remembered where you were.
*d'oh!*
I always love your pics. My kids think I am so cool to have an Aussie friend. And at this point, I need to be cool. So keep them coming Jelly!
Those are some neat photos... I especially like the bird watchers roosting!
How nice to see how 'fat' Fatty really is (isn't!) :) It's always lovely to see some pics....especially Aussie animals....to make me homesick. You have some amazing birds and wildlife there. Regarding the emu crossing the road...maybe the grass was greener?
Happy birthday to Heather. She made a nice substitute for you and did a great job filling in :)
