eight things

My esteemed blogfriend, John Cowart, asked me to do a meme. I was to tell 8 things about myself.

Here they are:

1) I have an unreasonable dread of vomiting. I would rather endure labour again than have to upchuck. Seriously.

2) I secretly enjoyed the challenge of going through labour, and felt like I'd run a marathon (and come first!) when my daughter was born

3) when I was six, I had a friend called Erin who used to kick me in the shins whenever I annoyed her. I thought this was fair enough and did not retaliate. My parents couldn't understand why my legs were purple with bruises.

4) I also had a friend called Alanadeen who I bossed around terribly. I used to order her to stand in a corner when she annoyed me (though I refrained from kicking her in the shins)

5) my Grade 8 English teacher told my mother I had no friends and was a social misfit.

6) although I have friends, and never believed that teacher, I do sometimes doubt my own 'likeability', and am never quite sure if my friends adore me or endure me

7) I know I should yearn for world peace, but inwardly I'm always dreaming of having taut thighs.

8) I have to concede that my life is rich and full and wondrous - wobbly thighs and all!

Taut thighs. World peace. I'll take the former. Probably more achievable.

What a lovely list!
Dont worry about the thighs too much. You have other seriously wonderful things about you to take everyone's mind off those!

I hope Erin has given up kicking people in the shins!

You are adored, not endured. Trust me.

This list was fun to read.

I also dread vomiting, and I share your enthusiasm for labour, but maybe we didn't have as tough a time as some people.

One of the great things about being blogfriends is that nobody cak kick you in the shins.

Thanks for responding to my meme tag. You're a trooper.

Jellyhead, I loved the eight things about you. A social misfit...I don't think so, not with the profession you decided upon.

Have a wonderful week and I'm with you on No 8!

So...you have wobbly thighs as well as a wobbly head! Hmmmm....
My hubby (who thinks he's so funny) suggests that if you kick everyone who annoys you in the shins your thighs will surely be taut. He also says to tell you we both adore you...which is true :) I told him he should write his own comments instead of taking up all my comment space!
I had a teacher like that in 4th grade..I think she scarred me for life!
Only a wobbly-headed Jellymonster would enjoy labour. But I have to agree with the resulting feeling! :)

RE: labour vs vomiting...
neither one is very appealing, but comparing the end results I'd have to agree with your choice.

Jelly,
I adore enduring you, wobbly (I seriously doubt it!) thighs and all. ;-)

At the risk of sounding really gross, I believe there is nothing like a good vomit!
Especially, the calm that comes over you afterwards (I guess it is that endorphin thing).
And the feeling of purging all your troubles away.
I sound like a bulimic, don't I? I'm not- but I guess I see the appeal.

We all really adore our Wobbly headed Jelly!!!

WOW!!! I didn't know anyone loved labor but me. The prize of labor was always the greatest gift of all.
I also agree with Heather's comment and also enjoyed learning 8 more things about you.

Well, I liked the bunny pjs the most. Thanks for sharing these 8 things about you! And regarding your recent comment on my little ol' blog - anytime you want to go on a roadtrip, just let me know!

I should like to hear more Alanadeen stories.

Did you taunt her mercilessly for having a name suggestive of a pharmaceutical remdy?

Wobbly thighs are nice.

Taut thighs, or wobbly, I adore you.

World peace is overrated.

And I'm a social misfit too...

I'll have to do this one time.

I'm always getting bruises... and no one is kicking me.

Yes Jelly - you are adored!!! Even more so for having wobbly thighs!!!
I am with you on the giving birth - the challenge and the success of it! I don't mind a good vomit - i'll probably cry after though!!! But I would rather give birth again than go to the dentist!!!

hey your word verification 'boozh' - i like it!!
