it's a dog's life

Millie the beagle is a bad bad dog. She looks like a sweet, loving, obedient hound. However, she is a Hoover on legs, and will eat anything, anywhere, anytime. Just the other day, she stole Ben's bug-catcher from the table, carried it down into the back yard, and pried the lid off with her teeth -all to gain access to a small tomato inside (in which a caterpillar was innocently living its munching life).
If we have visitors over, and we go to the door with them to say goodbye, we will return inside to find whatever food remained has mysteriously disappeared. Hmm we say, I thought we still had half a cake left...
Once, when Fatty and I were doing last-minute packing on the day we were leaving for an overseas trip, I found my toiletry bag had been attacked. All that was left of an entire month's worth of contraceptive pill was the much-chewed foil packet. I rang the vet in a flap, worried that something awful might happen - vomiting, diarrhoea, perhaps abdominal pain? The vet could hardly contain his hilarity and could only remark that the dog certainly wouldn't fall pregnant now. HA HA.
Somehow, despite the fact she has no regard for my authority, I respect Millie's ingenuity and sheer bravado. And she does have the softest ears ever.

LMAO!!! I guess Millie didn't have to worry about becoming prgnant for awhile!
I used to have a dog that was a chewer. One time he tore open a 15 KG back of(MOIST) potting soil & proceeded to shake it all over the living room! You can not imagine the mess. It kept clogging the vauum when I was cleaning it up. Had to pay for a professional carpet cleaner to come in!
I have a pic of it, when I find it I will upload it on my blog. OhBTW, when he was done he peed right in the middle of it all!
(Doggy went to new home after that!)

Wow, that sounds like a mess that would have just about brought me to tears! I have no similar stories - Millie knows she is doing something forbidden, so always sneaks away with the evidence before devouring it (not that you can sneak away with a 15kg bag! but she probably just wouldn't have gone for it in the 1st place)

By the way - hope your driving test went well.

Thanks Jellyhead...my driving test went great! I passed!!Woo Hoo! I parallel parked perfectly the first time!!
It was a great feeling! I am quite drained now(emotionally). But it is a good thing.

The only thing my dog does bad, is drink my coffee. We heard that garlic is good for dogs, so we used to sprinkle some on her dry food. Well one day after she ate her food, I had my coffee sitting on the ground and while I wasn't looking, she had a few laps of it. My wife saw but didn't tell me. I picked up the mug and took a big swig, and spit it 10 feet out into the yard. Garlic coffee is not good.
