Sunday

This is what has happened in my household today, in pictorial form. Get ready, it'll be an adrenaline ride for you just to hear about it. Or maybe not.

1) I went to the gym

2) Fatty went bird-watching this morning. He is now in a fabulous mood!

3) My children have been playing for hours in a cardboard box

4) I have been wandering the garden to take snaps

5) I am about to bake a banana cake, with these near-deceased bananas - ably assisted by my two ratbags, of course!

What have you all been up to this weekend?

What's little birdy's name, please?

Sounds like a fab Sunday to me, especially the banana cake. Save me a piece?

Hiya Motherkitty!

Just asked Fatty the name of the bird. He spat out his toothpaste to reply," A leaden flycatcher".

I have a piece of banana cake waiting!

I love the picture of the kids with their feet sticking out of the box! Too cute!

Your pictures are wonderful to see...as I have told you before...I love pictures.

Isn't it amazing how much time kids play with just ordinary things, like empty boxes...who needs expensive toys.

I bet that your banana cake is much like what we call banana bread. We just bake it in a bread pan. My hubby is enjoying a piece of banana bread right now (coincidence?).

My weekend was VERY EXCITING getting to know NEW distant relatives...by email. It seems a door has opened for me since I started blogging and I wished that I would have started sooner.

Sounds like a nice weekend :) And I love that you put it in pictorial form. Mine was fairly quiet, except I had 2 extra kids, but it kept mine happy...

Playing with big cardboard boxes - great memories from childhood. I remember that even as young teens my sister and I would flatten them out into "sleds" for whooshing down the dried grassy hillside behind our house.

I love your blog, it always makes me smile out loud! Ah, a cardboard box, if we had known what a wonderful joy it is, we would never have spend so much money on toys! nice photos!

As the father of six (all grown and gone now) I can assure you that there is no toy invented better than a big empty cardboard box!

Sounds like a perfect day! Makes me hungry for banana bread/cake. Save that box for when the kiddies get bored next time!

What a nice weekend. And too funny how a simple cardboard box can provide so much entertainment (only second to the laundry basket).

That's great you went to the gym! Send me some of that motivation :)
